Identity theft is the fastest growing crime in the United States, according to Colorado Attorney General John Suthers. It’s a Class 4 felony, which means that someone in Colorado caught using your personal information to obtain cash, credit or other items of value, or to make financial payments, may be sentenced to serve a minimum of two and up to eight years in jail.
